Latest Software at Euro Bus 2018
Distinctive Systems will once again be exhibiting at Euro Bus Expo when it returns to Birmingham's NEC on Tuesday 30th October to Thursday 1st November 2018.
On show will be the very latest versions of our Coach Manager private hire and contract booking system, Tour Booking System and Vehicle Maintenance System.
This year the stars of our stand will be our new Coach Manager Online Operations Portal, the latest enhancements to our VMS Electronic Job Card and our forthcoming Coach Manager Driver App.

Our Coach Manager Online Operations Portal, Driver Portal, Client Portal and Driver App
Coach Manager Online Operations Portal
On show for the very first time will be a new cloud-based Operations Portal for our Coach Manager private hire and contract booking system. The portal runs in a web browser on a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer.
The portal allows traffic office staff to work from home or anywhere else outside the office. It lets them view the bookings for a given day in a diary and add, or change, vehicle and driver allocations. To simplify selection it can filter down to showing just available vehicles and drivers.
Vehicle allocations are checked to ensure they match the requested vehicle type and are not in the workshop. Driver allocations are checked for driving hours† and licence compliance. Work tickets can be pushed to our Driver Portal. Beyond this core functionality, the portal replicates virtually all the features and tools that are in Coach Manager’s back office allocations diary.
The Operations Portal is fully integrated with our existing Driver and Client Portals. Between them they bring powerful and extensive cloud-based functionality to Coach Manager that is of huge benefit to any operator looking to modernise key areas of their business. We will be demonstrating the latest enhancements to both of these portals, and most particularly, the addition of instant automatic pricing for quotation requests submitted via the Client Portal.
All three portals are free of charge for users with a current subscription or software maintenance agreement.
VMS Electronic Job Card and Earned Recognition Enhancements
Also on show will be the latest enhancements to our recently released VMS Electronic Job Card. The EJC now automatically records accurate employee working time spent on each activity. In addition, it is now possible to list outstanding defects and create an unscheduled activity to fix them from directly within the EJC. VMS itself also includes a new set of reports for DVSA Earned Recognition for operators who have been accepted onto the scheme.
Coach Manager Driver App
And finally... we will be previewing our forthcoming Coach Manager Driver App. The app, which will be available for both iOS and Android devices, allows drivers to view a list of the bookings they have been allocated to. On selecting the next booking the driver can view the full details of it and then be guided step-by-step through each stage. When ready to start the driver presses a button to confirm he or she is setting off, and then presses it again at each pickup and on arrival at the destination. With each press the app records the actual time and location and updates the display with the details for the next stage. Actual times are automatically written back to Coach Manager.
Of perhaps greater significance though is the ability for Coach Manager to raise an alert if a driver is late in setting off. Instead of not finding out a driver hasn't left on time until you get a call from the client, you can now be warned of the situation just a couple of minutes after the driver has failed to start the booking. Thereby giving you more time to do something about it.
To help prevent this situation from actually happening in the first place, Coach Manager will also be able to send notifications to drivers to remind them of upcoming bookings.
The Driver App is also fully integrated with our existing Walk-around Check Mobile App.
The Driver App will be free of charge for all clients with a current subscription or software maintenance agreement and will be available in Q1 2019.
